I arrived entered the hall and saw two distinct groups of games. I sat with one just to check into another life style. They are working with the children in a team all day and it takes a bit of time to sit and transition and put aside what I have done and check in with where they are at. Most of the usual group was there and I checked in with Tiara and Heinrich about what I was doing with the kids.
The usual kids came in but they needed a lot of structure around them to keep them busy and neat. I did not feel like getting wet with paint. I needs them to sit and focus. I noticed a well set up station gets better results. They needed me to place and pre-organize all there utensils around them. I can’t get them to set up on their own station. If they could create that structure they would be so much more advanced to work with.
Today I tried demonstrating a drawing project to them. My drawing did not make that much impact on them except that they wanted to learn how to draw themselves. They found the pencil crayons quiet dry as they like to flood the page with colour. I insisted I only wanted colour pencils. They did come up with some good line work.
The results were quiet spaced out and not that worked into. The learners attentions spans were not that good. There is no easy way to extend their focus.
